Mangrove not doing well, need help fast!

dom4419 Nov 22, 2011 06:46 PM

Hi, i've had my mangrove for about 3 years now, yesterday she was her usual self, exploring the tank, jumping against the glass begging for food and so on. I fed her some mice and like usual she didn't even give me time to drop them in, just ripped them out of my hand and i left. I went back down a few hours later to check if my new brazilian rainbow boa had eaten her first meal since she's been in my possession and noticed that my monitor had regurgitated its food and was very melow, i was actually able to grab her without getting whipped (she's wild caught). I went back to check before and she's doing worse, i grabbed her and put her in the basking spot and she started thrashing around like she had a seizure for about 20seconds.

I tried searching the net can't find anything. What's wrong with her? What can i do?

Try to remember if you didn't mess with chemicals, poisons, drugs, paints, solvents or anything of the sort these last few days.

Check for all electric devices inside the cage to make sure they are well isolated.

It does need vet care, quick.

From its overt signs, its got a calicum problem. from not having high enough temps. Thats my guess and I am sticking to it. Oh until some better FACTS come our way.

In any case, a Vet is needed, then better husbandry.

And please indicus onwer, we all are responsible for our captives, if something goes wrong, then its always our fault and we need to improve our husbandry. So don't take it personal.

Also, anything over the internet is and only can be a guess, to actually do something of benefit, the monitor must be examined and the keeper questioned. Thats why a vet is a necessity. Good luck
