White patches on a Uro

MimC85 Nov 26, 2011 01:00 PM

Hello,

Im having a problem with my 4yo Mali Uro. For the last few weeks he has been hiding more and not eating as much. Its winter here in maine and my beardie is currently bedding down for brumation so I was wondering at first if maybe my uro was too. He has never done this in the past so i was not sure if this wasnormal behavior or not?

The other day he came out and I noticed that on his back he had some white patches that werent there before. They remind me of burns I have seen on other lizards. I am not sure what caused this? He has no hot rocks in his tank and he cannot get close enough to his MVB bulb to burn himself. He is in the same set up he has always been in, no changes have been made.

Any idea what this might be??

I have also attached some photos....

The photo is small enough that I can't really get a good look. I've never dealt with anything quite like that - no white patches that weren't related to shedding. If you're quite sure it's not that, and that it can't be a burn, I'd recommend a vet visit to see if it's a fungus.

Cant tell from the picture. I have seen white spots on my saharans but its usually from the male marking the female, or one of them did their dirty business on the other one.. which I have seen happen twice... dunno how they manage to pull that off though.

try and get a better pic closer up
