Normal herp bulb VS Pro-series

meme_cantu Nov 28, 2011 05:15 PM

Hello!!

I have 2 hatchling U.ornata that have been with me for some time (Months). They have been in a standard exo-terra basking bulb, with fine temperatures, eating great greens and lots of seeds (and well hydrated). I recently changed their bulb for a Pro-series (Exo-terra I think) believing that it was going to improve their overall health and coloration but I noticed a decrease in feeding (one of those that provides heat UVA UVB). I do not know if this is normal or expected, but just tough of asking everyone!

Thanks, good day

Did the temperatures drop after switching lamps? Even different lamps of the same type can create different temps. If you double check and temps haven't changed, it might just be a natural slowdown for the wintertime. Most of mine eat less and sleep more in winter, even with no deliberate changes in the cages.

Another possibility might be parasites. Have they had a fecal check?
