So, I purchased this morph today. Guy told me he ordered a regular Keyan from a breeder and the snake ended up pregnant. She had three babies all like this. I'm curious as to what it may be? Best I can find is a Dodoma. Thoughts?

He's not a normal. He has rounded spots that don't connect and a patternless head. His sister, who someone else purchased, has the same patterning but she's a brighter red and I was told she's a flame.
Kenyan sand boas are highly variable... There might be some 'flame' in there but 'flame' is a 'morph' per se. It is a selectively bred trait... Unless you know for sure that the parents were 'flames' they are just nice looking normals IMO.
Maybe someone else will chime in.

Meant, "flame is NOT a morph per se"

I contacted a breeder of Dodoma's who essentially said the same thing. He shows Dodoma traits but came from an anery mother which rules out any chance he'd be Dodoma as they can only reproduce that pattern from others. He's still gorgeous in my opinion and has a wonderful personality. Even if he is "normal". But thank you. At least now I know.
He's very clean, it is quite possible that he was produced by breeding a dodoma to an anery. I've given up on trying to understand what 'flame' means anymore in the pet trade. At one time I thought it meant a dodoma crossed into another non dodoma....but VPI coined the 'dodoma flames' which meant it was a dodoma aka dodoma flame.....I do not use the term 'flame' anymore as it is confusing and misleading. He may be a possible 'dodoma cross' which would be more accurate and less misleading.....wish you the best.
