Thats an odd question, those are all about the same size.
All can get over four feet, and mostly under five.
Savs may actually be the largest. That is a four foot Sav is really a large monitor.
Oh well, I keep thinking and thinking and well they are all about the same.
Besides what difference does it make?
Hay Thanks.....Sorry to confuse you...but I was curious and I felt no other better place to ask than here!!!

Yea, those are all in the three to five foot range. good luck
Variable and can all be close as Frank stated, but I'd probably rank (big to small) Argus, Quince, Dumerilli, Exanthematicus by size and how big they act. Quince, Dumeril's and Savannahs are all wild-stolen and imported (with associated health risks to the animals being imported) while a good % of US Argus are captive born and bred at least. I happen to care about stopping or at least, limiting so much importation and wild-stealing of animals from nature when possible - and the importation process is not good for the lizards at all if/when they do survive it. But Argus will "act" the biggest with a male being a 4.5 to 5 footer and they're super-active lizards who appreciate a lot of space and stuff to do in a cage. Male Melinus are over 4 footers also, but they're more shy/withdrawn and don't seem so big seeing as they're more cryptic. The other two are pretty sessile normally. I actually really like both Dumeril's and Exanth's. I just wish they were CBB.

I know your hands must be getting full?
As you know Ben Aller has captive bred Dumerills for years.
I'm not sure if he's still incubating his egg's anymore?
Hatchling Dums are beautifull!

Mike,
having trouble locating contact info.....?

Mike - Ben stopped the Dumerilli train many, many years ago from what I remember him saying. I think he is rebuilding with Roughnecks (Rudicollis and Dumerilli) but hasn't had babies available in some time. For a while he had a ton hatching out.
Cheers,
Justin

I believe Ben's problem was selling his offspring.
Unfortunately trying to compete with cheaply priced imports will always be a problem with readily imported Monitors.
MOST folks look more at the price than the quality and benifits of CBB Monitors.
Ben has been working on his collection and building some of what I KNOW will be AWESOME enclosures.

Ben told me that he has some in the incubator....but they were all spokin for...and or he could not sell to me cuz of restrictions....told me to check with "eastbay vivarium"
But they have not responded yet.....
I have found some other roughnecks...ie black roughnecks but they just dont seem to be as desirable to me as the dumerils.
Ben seigel has one dumeril baby.....but....its not CBB.
OH the dilemma goes on......may end up with ackies again....
