Sick baby Veiled Chameleon, please HELP

reptilesrock Dec 21, 2011 11:53 PM

Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum, but I need some help. I work in a pet store and we have a baby veiled chameleon. It has not been eating well and its eyes have been closed for a couple days now. I am pretty concerned as he is getting thinner and thinner. I have heard eye infections and vitamin A deficincies are common in veiled's. Wanted to get some input on how to treat it. Should he be force-fed, does he need anti-biotics? Any suggestions and feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks

How long have you had the chameleon?

What is the temperature in the cage?

What brand and type (compact, long linear, spiral) UVB light are you using?

What size is the chameleon and what size are the insects being offered to it? Is it drinking? How long has it been since it stopped eating?

Vitamin A deficiencies are less common in veileds IMHO....but vitamin A and D3 and calcium and phos. all need to be in balance.
