Seeking Russian Rats in Portland, OR

Ameron Dec 26, 2011 05:55 PM

I live in the Portland, Oregon area. I know of very few Herpers here anyway, and no longer know know of any contacts from the Field Herpers Forum.

Are there any schrencki owners in my area? I'd love to contact you by email and eventually arrange to see your animals. I'd love to learn more about Russians as a possible Next Snake.

If you live in my area, please reply.

Across the river in Vancouver? If so, I have lived there twice, for 3 years in Hazel Dell.

I'd like to meet, if possible. I'd like to see your collection and swap stories. I rarely meet another Herper and would enjoy the exchange.

Please ping me via internal system.

You're not likely to find anyone in your area working with Russian Rats. They are in very high demand because not many people have them. I sell out babies every year without really needing to advertise them.

They're a cool snake that seemed to be more available "back in the day." To learn more about them, check out the article I wrote for "Reptiles" magazine: www.reptilechannel.com/snakes/snake-species/russian-rat-snakes.aspx

Very interesting and helpful link.

Now I feel bad that I just got an Everglades. I was hunting for: active, alert, inquisitive

Maybe next time...
