Some New years Eve herping...

Well, I thought since its the last day for 2011, we should go out and find our last snakes.... Slow day with only a ground snake and night snake, and a bunch of lizards like Uta stansburiana and Urosaurus ornata.
The groundsnake was my favorite, It had a ring neck and faded black cap on the head.

Its been in the mid 70's with sun... Today we caught a nasty collard lizard that was leaping 18 inches to bite me... We could not even get it to run away because it was so concerned with attacking us. Coolest attitude ive ever seen in a lizard.
