Gila hibernation necessary?

I'm gathering info about Gila husbandry with the goal of deciding whether to acquire one--not for breeding--but as a display animal.

Does one have to hibernate his Gila even if he doesn't have a breeding program in view?

If you do not intend to breed them, hibernation is not necessary.
