Not a cyclura ... but (update)

Really Jan 04, 2012 12:27 PM

I had purchased two little blue phase greens at Petco on June 5. They had a lot of health issues and one of them passed away. The other one, Tazumal, seems to have turned the corner and is doing much better. Here are some recent pics of him. He's still small for his age. Based on the size he was when I got him he is probably between 8 and 9 months old.

Here is a picture from last week at the Garden Center that I took with my phone:

These are from November (he's grown some since then and shed twice) but they show his color very well:

Anyway, I just wanted to share that he hasn't turned green, at least not yet.

SO shiny and plump- Really cool though- lets hope he stays blue

I love that you snuck him into the garden center for a nice day trip, I used to bring my first green iguana around with me everywhere.

Sometimes I bring Petra with me to college(I'm in NY though so its freezing now)and she hangs around with me in my Undergrad Anthropoogy office (but thats only because at my school, all Bio-dropouts become anthro majors!)She gets a lot of love from the grad students

Yeah, I hope he stays blue. I've had him since June 5 and so far his color is more intense. He's quite beautiful.

Interesting about the bio majors switching to Anthropology. My daughter was always planning to major in Bio and last semester was entralled and intrigued with her first Anthro class. She is now talking about a double major. I have a sneaking suspicion that eventually the bio will drop and Anthro will remain.
