Back into hibernation

Linda G Jan 04, 2012 08:14 PM

Well, I had to take my baby turtle out of hibernation after 5 weeks several weeks ago as I thought he may have a respiratory infection. Good news he didn't after waking up. He ate for a few days several days out but then stopped again 10 days ago. I am putting him back in again until March. It's amazing how you just can't fool these guys into thinking it is summer. My temps and humidity were good but he just knew. Also, I had to share a picture of my adult box turtle's hiberniculum. My family and friends think this is the funniest thing. I had to find the right temps for hibernation and I did-what can I say-I am resourceful. She is hibernating in style in my car in the garage (2nd picure)
