baby iguana's strand behavior/markings

booyahjcooley Jan 20, 2012 03:18 PM

So i just received my new baby green iguana from underground reptiles. The Iguana has large black splotches all over his body. I sent pictures to the company and they claimed they were just the iguanas markings. The iguana also acts very strange. He pushes himself into corners and does not move for long periods of time. This morning when i woke up to come turn on his lamps he appeared to be dead. he was squeezed into a corner and when i picked him up he didn't move. after inspecting him closely he appears to be breathing. I'm very confused because i own another green iguana who is 1 year old and i've had him since he was a hatchling. my first iguana never behaved like this. I would just like to get a second opinion on the matter.

If your iguana is nonresponsive you need to get him to a vet. Black markings could be his natural markings or they could be stress lines. Post a picture here but please get your iguana to a qualified vet!

No worries. I had a neighbor ,who's a retired vet, take i look at him and he said the spots were minor burns. He prescribed some ointment. The ig is gonna be just fine.
