Beaded Lizard Basking Light Question

Fascination Jan 23, 2012 03:07 PM

Hello, I have 1 of my Beadeds in a 4 foot showcase cage which is VERY similar to visions model. It has a 12" drop from the top to accommodate a 12" dome for light or heat. I want to set up a basking spot for him and was wondering what dome is highly recommended and what should I use in it...a heat lamp? Light? Color? What size in wattage? There is about 9" from the drop to the bottom of the cage. What is a good temp? Thanks in advance.

Beadeds don't bask. Under cage heat is the way to go.

I have 1 heat bulb & 1 ceramic & I have to adjust the lamps to get my temps right. I only have 2 beaded's but as my beaded's multiply or I purchase more I will use under the tank heating . Seems like heat lamps would be a pain if I had more beaded's . Also lights don't last long & aren't worth the money . If you like heating lamps the ceramic would be the way to go because they last a lot longer than bulbs . My beaded's don't bask but they know where the heat is .
