In Brownsville, Texas! .. a beautiful Indigo snake!

And .. I still get a kick out of seeing these big guys in nature.. Crotalus atrox today in Brownsville, Texas.

For those who want to know; temperatures were 74-76 (F) the sky was overcast and it was drizzling intermittently.. Here's a short (low rez) video of that animal as it was found.

These snakes are more than belts, hat bands or paperweights. Get to know a few and you'll agree.. Boycott the Roundups!

Hi.. each year is different. This year is starting a little early.. yet generally speaking unless we're experiencing a strong cold front there's no single day of the year when you can't go out and find an Indigo snake.

Thanks for your reply.

Well...there you go Gus...going to start teasing me with those later winter Drymarchons...at least that one is full Texan with the labial configuration. LOL I had several spots in my area of Florida where I use to spot about a half dozen in Febraury and March, but the state purchased the property and sprayed it with poison to get rid of all the invasive plants...now the most common animals are coyotes. Keep post'n and I'll keep look'n!!!
