This winter has been quite mild. It seemed like a good day to take some snake photos. I dig the way these Baird's Rat Snakes always seem to be changing color, depending on their age and what kind of light you're looking at them under.

Great looking pair Tim. I like the contrast in how the pair have colored up differently. It's cool to watch how much Baird's change in color as they age, getting more and more color as they grow. In my opinion it makes them one of the most interesting ratsnakes to raise from hatchling to adult. They remind me of d. jani in that respect.
