Meant to Thank You, Spuckler

For the *great* link you provided a few days ago to your Reptile Channel article from around Feb 2011:

http://www.reptilechannel.com/snakes/snake-species/russian-rat-snakes.aspx

It's hard enough to get accurate, species-specific info on snakes about most topics like life span and breeding, but few sources detail and give insight into Behavior, and how it differs between species. (A very interesting topic for me.)

This was one of the most informative, helpful, *interesting* articles I've ever read.

Great job!!

You're welcome,

Though I have to admit that I combined by own experiences as well as using this forum's search engine to get other people's experiences with Russian Rats to write that article. So it really was a "community effort" - I just put all the pieces together.

I've never bred Russian's before and wondered about what size clutch you average with them?

Randy,

It would be 10-12. They tend to lay pretty big eggs.

Heck, as many of us know, that is the very BEST kind of detailed information to be honest. This gives a much broader gathering of data when it comes from many different sources and experiences. Brian Hubbs could have NEVER written such a complete and informative book on L.getula (Common Kingsnakes) if it weren't for all the great many sources he researched and compiled.

And BTW, that certainly was an excellent article you wrote Tim!..
