Sand in the eye

jstites Feb 10, 2012 09:30 PM

Hello,

I have two leopard geckos, both females. I acquired them from my Father a week ago. He had acquired them from the neighbors. They are fully grown. One of my females has had her eye mostly closed since he got them. So for about two weeks now. We think it might be sand. What can I do about this?

Hi

You should take them to a reptile vet. and have them look at the geckos eye's, because it could be an eye infection. I do not keep my geckos on sand and never would because of things that could happen, so I use a newspaper/papertowel substrate, and even with that kind of ground cover two of my geckos started having that kind of eye trouble and I took them to the vet. and they both had an eye infection. So consider taking them.

Take Care
