Cage door designs

mfoux Feb 10, 2012 11:15 PM

Hey guys, I'm looking for suggestions on cage door designs. Some close-up pics and/or detailed plans would be nice. I'm kicking around several cage ideas, but most likely the doors will need to be hinged drop-down. The cage construction may be melamine, sealed plywood or FRP (fiberglass structural angle/channel) with HDPE sides/top/bottom. I'll most likely use polycarbonate for the "glass". (I can get all this fancy stuff at really good prices). My main concern is how to make a good, escape proof door and it will need locking hardware.
I'll be making a number of cages from 2x2x2 to 6x2x2.
I'd be interested in seeing some of your designs.

I just use a frameless polycarbonate door. I drill it for hinges and latches.
