More fun then a nest box.

FR Feb 13, 2012 10:27 AM

These little fellas are hatching now, plus one more who won't stick its head out.

And no, they were not laid in a nest box. hahahahahahahahaha

The point of that is, who cares, as there are little heads sticking out and we did that lots of times with lacies too. All the rest is pretty much horsebeans.

Those aren't lacies, are they? Congrats, though.

No sir, they are V.flavirufus. There are at least two of us in the states breeding them. And we are both doing a good job.

In my opinion, there are one of the very best captive monitors. Considering size, color, temperment, ease of care, etc.

And you don't need to talk about termite mounds. thanks

Yeah, I remember talking to Justin about them. They're gorgeous, and really would like to have one, a pure one, not the crosses.

Does anybody in the US breed or even keep V. g. gouldii?

Yea, I produced lots and lots of pure gouldi. I did hang on to four, 1.3. They are adults now and I think one is gravid. One may have already laid, not sure about that.

I hope to get some eggs this spring summer, but we will see. The male likes his girls, almost bit to much.

Maybe if I get time I will post some pics tomorrow. Cheers

I kindda Franks idea better, though. I think it's more original.

Hi Paradon, I a bit lost here, what idea would that be?
