Price of designer fat tails

Jay_the_Snake Feb 20, 2012 03:39 PM

Good afternoon,

Just wondering when the price of designer fat tail geckos going to come down in price. For some reason, they are still considerably more costly than designer leopard geckos.

On average Fat-Tails lay fewer eggs per season than leopard geckos so the price should stay higher longer. Another factor is that the fat-tail morphs are still newer than most leopard gecko morphs. There are also lots of combos of fat-tails that have yet to be done yet so the value of the base morphs will remain higher since they are valuable in creating new morphs. Just my perspective on the market, not trying to speak negatively on leopard geckos. They are great geckos!

Thanks for the information. I wouldnt say that you are being negative, you are stating the facts. I was just wondering because there are some morphs that I would love to work with in the next few years.

Me too! I'm not ready to spend the kind of money some of them are listed for either. They'll come down probably 15-50% in the next year or two.
