Well, I was close. Without seeing the belly it looked like some hets, I have, but yeah they change dramatically with a little time. I'd love to see the pics. I have a fire I'll post later on also.

I just noticed the water bowl your using. I use the same types, but man I really recommend cutting a bigger hole in the top. I have had a snake drown in the bowl before, and I remember others posting the same thing. Since I started cutting bigger holes, I've never had a problem, and it still helps keep the water from spilling pretty good, as well.

I appreciate your advice, but I've been using this for method for 20+ years and never had an issue. I don't keep the bowls very full either, changing the water out three times a week, so maybe that's the difference. The other factor could be the size of the bowl relative to the size of the snake. I don't use this methods at all for adults (I use the ARS racks with the built in deli cup holders), but do use it for hatchlings. The bowl in the pic could hold four of those babies (of course I don't house any snakes together). Anyway, like I said, I do appreciate you offering your advice.
Here's the same snake now as an adult. I just took this pic. Of course she's just starting into a shed, but her colors still look decent.
Take care,
Jeremy
That's cool, sounds like you got your system working pretty well. I just get flashbacks when I see small openings in water bowls. The one I had that drowned, had air space, it just seemed to not be able to find it's way out? I'm really guessing, cause I still scratch my head over what really happened. Who knows?
That is a great looking Bloodred by the way!

Thanks.
I just noticed that corn in your sig box. WOW! That thing is killer. Off to check out your website.
You have a really nice site. Easy to navigate. Those Miami's are incredible!
thanks Jeremy! I get a lot of compliments on her, that's why i chose her for my site logo. She is pretty stunning, if I say so myself. I am trying to produce that "Silver Back" look more consistantly by selective breeding, as they don't all come out that caliber. I have a male from breeding her Dad to a Hypo, that is close, but not quite. Maybe he'll give me some super nice Crimsons?
