Rat-a-thon day 13 (help)

RandyWhittington Feb 28, 2012 08:48 PM

It's only day 13 everyone. Help me keep this thing rolling. I know a lot of you out there who have some really nice rat snakes that haven't posted them yet. I know I'd like to see them and I'm sure many others would too. Help a poor old rat snake junkie out. Gimme a fix. lol

Here are some western green (senticolis triaspis) rat snakes.

I'm not sure why I always want to call them westerns.
I meant to say Northern Green Rat Snakes (senticolis triaspis intermedia).

Nice intermedia, Randy!

We at SWCHR follow Brian Crother and the work of SSAR (Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles) - and so call intermedia "Northern" Green Rat Snake. Not all do however - notably, Gerold Merker (last I knew) still apparently calls them Western Green Rat Snake...

Thanks Toby. I think I just have western green ingrained in my brain from years ago.

Damn Randy, when did you get them? Just when I think your collection can't get any better you go and post those beauties. You've got some nice stuff.

Thanks Matt. The rat snakes are a never ending addiction with me. I've got a few more on my must get list as it is now.
