green tree python laying on ground

savedbywhales Mar 12, 2012 01:52 PM

Ive had my gtp since saturday and he is sleeping on the ground. I took him out once and when I put her back in she went on her branches and was exploring, then she perched on the top log of the enclosure, when I switched to the night light, I saw her exploring again for over 2 hours before I went to bed, then when I woke up at 9am the next day she was sleeping back on the ground. Ive checked all the temps and the humidity, they range from 87 in the hottest spot to 73 in the coolest spot, the ground is at 73 and the lowest branch reads the same, so I know its not a problem with that, so what could be going on?

This is not uncommon with new acquisitions. Just give it time to adjust and avoid handling it for several weeks.
