Digging

I have had my bearded dragon since it was a baby and he is now 3 years old. Recently he has started digging so much that his nails are worn down a few all the way to the finger. I cant get him to stop and am afraid that it may lead to an infection or be a sign of something else. Anyone know why the sudden liking to digging?

Excessive digging like that makes me think she is trying to lay eggs. Give her a proper egg laying box and put her in it.

If you are 100% certain its a male, check your temps and make sure the cage isn't too hot and he's just trying to escape the heat.
