I've spent the last five years or so collecting locality boas, not doing much with colubrids although I've had many over the years. I couldn't ignore these two 09 alterna on a table at the NARBC show in Tinley this past weekend. The girl who had them even brought her feeding records going all the way back to 09. These were produced by Rock Canyon Reptiles who seem to maybe be out of business judging by their website. I've been out of the colubrid game for a while now.

Does anyone have any contact for them? I would like to chase their lineage back a bit further.

Sorry but pics are bit too orange. The female is the one with the less distinct bands and in person has little to no orange.

I guess the alterna bug has bitten me again...I'm getting a trio of Ric Blair animals from Clint Sperling as well.

Yes, it was Rock Canyon Ranch. Forgive me, I'm running on a very few hours sleep. Chicago is nine hours one way from here and I've been operating in a mental fog all day.

Did you try filling out the contact form on his webpage ? I have a pair of 04' River Roads that I bought from Larry last year.

Yes, I did do that finally. I remember him having a more comprehensive website at one point. I kinda' went out on a limb buying these because I simply liked their appearance but I certainly want to try and trace down a bit more about them or at least confirm they are River Road alterna, who knows, he may know something more specific about their origins.

I still have his number in my phone. I have an 09 Christmas Mountain Alterna from him. Last time I talked to him he had been going thru a lot. If you want his number, contact me.

He called me this morning and what a great guy. I'm even more proud to have alterna he produced and he gave me a very through history of these snakes background.
