New babies with a very odd coloration

kybacon Mar 21, 2012 11:36 PM

First let me say that these are not the typical yellow coloration that I see in a bunch of my litters. I have been breeding KSB's for many years and have NEVER seen this coloration. I call them "blondes" but we will see what they morph into with time. I had several of them in a recent clutch and right away I knew they were different. I waited until their first shed to really see and this is what they look like now.

So what's everybody think?

Interesting. Not anery in the typical sense, but definitely reduced red pigment.

The best thing to do is send me a few so I can do an evaluation..lol.

I produced some in 2007 that seem similar. I could post pics for comparison if I can figure out how to add a pic to my message. I called them hypoerythristics. "Blonde" is much easier to say lol. It's a nice, unique coloration. I had one that was so light I thought for sure it was an anery when it was born. I eventually sold all of them so they are probably out there.

I have been working with animal this color for five or six years and have also called them blonde, so far they appear to be a polymorphic trait. I bred blonde to blond las year and had a mix of babies, although some are really white. Very nice animals in my opinion.
