Egg Laying box?

calebharris Mar 28, 2012 12:54 AM

I have a female brongersmai that I bred this season. Unfortunately, I lost all my records from my computer somehow, so I don't have accurate shed data, or anything really. She last shed about two weeks ago, and has been getting fatter by the day. I heard that they are a little unpredictable as far as when they lay. My questions are when should I be concerned something might be wrong, and might she want a laying box? She is in a four foot by twenty inch tub with cypress bedding. It isn't a huge enslosure, so i figured more stuff might be a bother to her. She is a little over five feet and an '06. Thanks for your help

Caleb

Being that she is already on cypress I think you can forego a nest box. Your entire tub is essentially one anyway. For seclusion you can put some paper on top of the bedding for her to go under to lay. She will find her spot. If that shed was indeed her pre lay eggs will come 30-40 days from that date.

Thanks for the response. I had pretty much assumed from my research and talking with other keepers that the tub would be sufficiently secluded. And it was. . .
