Anyone captive breeding this year?

mturner01 Mar 31, 2012 03:17 PM

This place has been pretty dead, but what's everyone going for this year? I'm trying my red testaceus and I'm very excited. Brumation seems to have went well at an average temp of 56 (dispite the too-warm winter). They are up and feeding on a variety of small, frequent meals. Male just started shed, female is still bulking. Hope everyone's having fun!

What fabulous pink coachwhips. Nice to see someone working with good quality testaceus. I won't be breeding any this year myself, as I'm still establishing the ones I bred two years ago. Baby coachwhips can be challenging. I look forward to updates on your breeding success.

Did you ever get them to breed?

Disclaimer: I do keep several snakes in pairs, and some in groups. However I realize that things can go wrong, and I have to keep a close eye on those groups, to be sure they are not being adversely affected by these living conditions. Also if one happens to eat it's cagemate, it is 100% my fault, and I know the risks in advance!
