My two geckos. Any idea what morph?

countessnaamah Apr 24, 2012 08:24 PM

Hello! I'm pretty new to Leopard Geckos. I got my first, Irena, on January 29th. I got my second one, Cocoa, two days ago. I love them! I have no idea about morphs, so I figured I'd post some pictures to see if anyone has an idea. Thanks!

Here's Irena:

Irena looks like a RAPTOR. It's hard to tell on Cocoa, but I'd guess a Hypo. I'm more concerned about her tail being thin at her size. How and what is she eating? I would keep them separate for sure (quarantine). Usually when an adult has a skinny tail they have some parasites or something else going on. Crickets can carry pinworms/hookworms and when a gecko is stressed they act up and cause these sorts of things to happen. Any other health issues/observations yet?

Cocoa likes crickets, doesn't seem much interested in mealworms I've provided for her. She ate 7 crickets yesterday. I haven't noticed anything peculiar about her yet. She seems normal. Yes, I have them in separate tanks for now. May keep them separate forever, haven't decided. Is there any way to test for parasites?

You can have a vet check a stool sample. The worms would be in there. Good to keep them separate as they can pass the worms through their feces to one another.

Thank you for your help. I'll get her to a vet as soon as I can.
