And another

I love their coloration!
Is this a 1.2 trio?
Not 100% on the sex ratio at the moment its looking to be 1.2 but no definite yet
Those are great looking reptiles you have there. I have been looking into these and there isn’t much information on them. Could you possibly point me to a good reading source for these? I am looking to get a pair myself in the next 6-12 months but would like to read as much as I possibly can find on them first. You really have a great trio there.
Thank you for the link it is great help. What do these lizards as CB babies cost? What is the average price of a single and even a pair of these? I am on the fence about a pair of these lizards or a pair of blue tegus as my next large lizards. I am not looking to get them at the moment, just making sure I have everything planned out and know 98% what to expect (as a keeper you can’t know it all). I am aware that they are completely different reptiles and have different needs. I am not worried about caging because I build most of my cages so size is not a problem. Thank you for any information provided and again congrads on the mating. I know seeing any of my reptiles mating is always an exciting time.
Thank you,
Anthony
not meaning to sound like a dick but even if you knew 100% of what to expect you'd only know about 1% but that learning is half the fun and always remember 74% of all statistics are made up on the spot!!

Agreed the best things a what you wouldn't expect and just like humams every animal is different from a lovable tree hugger to a homicidal maniac.
This is why I hate the phrase typical temperament
I agree with you bivittaus,
“if you knew 100% of what to expect you'd only know about 1% but that learning is half the fun and always remember 74% of all statistics are made up on the spot!!”
To me that is one of the most exciting parts of reptiles you can read all you want but until you have it, you don’t know anything really. I only mean as far as reading material is concerned I am trying to read anything/everything I can. For any person to take that statement as a “dick” remark they haven’t really owned reptiles. I mainly am trying to gather enough information on the Cumingis monitors so that when I do have a chance to get a pair or even one I am as ready as I can be for them. I am trying to locate a pair of babies and trying to price them so I can know what to expect to pay when I do find them. I enjoy building cages for my reptiles and with each reptile I build the cage around their needs. Again I am mainly looking for any helpful information on them and where to possibly get them.
Thank you for all of the advice and assistance. Best of luck with the breeding and care.
Anthony
Hi mine are Indo imports cost me about £2500 about 2years ago could get young trio for about 1500 these days.
Wow. Uk and Germany have the best breeders. They look amazing!
YOur animals look amazing. There's no editing of the photos.
Cheers buddy nope no editing at all
Hi, that`s not a very good read at all in my opinion, they advise a basking spot of 40c (105f), which is much too low, the surface temp should be between approx 50 to 60c (120 to 140f). Also, if whole vertebrate prey such as rodents, birds, fish, etc are fed, no dietary supplements are needed, neither is UVB exposure.
To be honest I completely agree with you there are a few errors unfortunately there is very limited info on cumingi.
Hmmm?? I may have to make a info/captive care sheet.
winnouk those are some nice looking animals! Cumings have not been captive produced here in the states yet, although I am working on it. My first clutch of eggs doesn't appear to be any good but my second female is gravid and I am hoping for a good clutch from her (due around May 15th). My animals are from captive lines produced in Europe. It's very hard to get cumingi here legally. I am still actively looking for additional animals. I currently have 1.2 young adults. I wish my pics were half as good as yours. The humidity and lighting makes it extremely difficult to get decent pics. As you know these animals in person are far brighter! IMO One can't truly appreciate these animals without seeing them in person. I have been keeping notes on my experiences with them, temps, breeding..... If you have any interest in sharing info I would be interested in doing so. Here are a few pics of mine:

Hi John
thanks for you message mate. Mine are only looking bright at the moment as there of the soil sand mix while I do some work on there viv.
They are going back in there viv tonight (hopefully.)
I haven't made notes on mine yet as they are really shy but I have seen good improvements with them over the last 2 years. I am just in the middle of setting up a remote access CCTV so hopefully see some good behaviour borrowing basking social sexual dominance and feeding. It should be very interesting to see.
If you have any good sexing and breeding advice I would really appreciate it.
Good luck with your next batch of eggs.
