Croc/salvadorii egg

Gatorhunter Apr 25, 2012 11:07 PM

My female croc is at it again and this egg has me thinking maybe my new female I bought is really a small male. Its snout is starting to yellow which is some say is a male characteristic.
This eggs was on the surface but looks pretty decent and is nicely shelled. She appeared to be laying the rest when I checked on tonight. Looks to be about a foot or more into the ground so maybe I will get lucky.

croc egg vs ackie

p.s if anyone knows anything about corn snakes could you please tell me what a starburst breed to a caramel butter het bloodred might produce. Had 15 of those also today

I was able to get two more this morning. They are decent looking but where a little chilly. She had the whole open all night and hasn't finished I don't think. Luckily she doesn't mind me to bad so I grabbed them in hopes to save them. Blows my mind that she didn't lay in the heated dirt that is 32inches deep

I hope you get babies but scattered eggs like that is a really bad sign (for the eggs and for the female).

Her timing is crap I just moved to Oklahoma and trying to get the cage to par (aka nesting). Only one was scattered, she buried the other two. I wouldnt be surprised if they infertile due to I have never seen any mating yet. She is already at full steam again and chomped down 6 chicks. She had an issue last year that I had to correct but I do understand the worries and it is in my thought process. My guess for her not using the better nesting sites is because they got setup only a few days ago. Hopefully next time will be on the up and up.

Are you still going to try to incubate these eggs? It seems like it could be worth a shot.

I found what I think is the rest. They were deeper down. It appears to be three good and three bad at this time. Keep updated. Konga ate all her chicks and was her joyful self this morning. Hopefully next goes smoother and more planned

Would be great to see some success with Crocs. They are too cool!
