Climbers for Brazillian Rainbow Boa

sssssnakes Apr 26, 2012 12:28 PM

I am looking for (inexpensive) ideas for a climber form my BRB. She is only 18 months, but want to get something that she can climb on when she/he gets full size/weight

Since she needs high humidity, all wood except cholla and cork wood will mold.

I saw a pic of a enclosure for a climbing snake, and it had PVC pipes in it - but wouldn't that be too slippery?

I figured out a way - and thought I would share. Purchasing a couple (or more) of the fake trees - second hand of course. Cut the tree down at the base, wrap around PVC piping (used for strength) You may want to seal the ends so they don't hide too much - can be done with the caps they sell

I would think a BRB would be happier with a nice big, dark hide box compared to a climbing apparatus. Not saying BRBs won't climb - almost any snake will climb looking for an escape - but by and large BRBs are ground dwellers.

She does have a nice suggly hide - along with a moss pit
