I recently saw this in Northeast Ohio and though that it was pretty cool.

...cool turtle....

the first thing you have to do is.....se if there is coal dust in the water there....check the sand...is it black?...the sulpher (I think) from coal makes animals turn orange....I have seen orange snappers like this in the Susquehanna River here in Columbia ,PA....down in (washington Boro) the islands can be almost pure coal dust in places....lots of coal from the decades of trains and barges running the river, from coal country in upstate to Md ....anyways....orange I have seen in toads also...orange toad was real cool...huge one...left it out there.........it works fast....LONG ago...my brother and his friend(s) fished all summer long in the river...walking all over and staying out there pretty much everyday.....their toenails turned orange....!! gross on humans....cool on turtles....

funny though....the paint turtles and map turtles here...I never saw an orange tinted one......

good luck....may be no coal in your area......
