I have been told that the use of no pest strips is ok as long as the animals cannot touch the strip. Is this correct or totally wrong ?

I use no pest strips all the time. The fumes are pretty strong so I cut about an inch and stick it in a baby food jar with holes poked in the top. That way the snake cant come in contact with it.To big of a piece can be harmful to the snake
