Giant Buddy! Massive Ater!

Rosebuds Apr 30, 2012 09:49 PM

Hey yall. I haven't posted for awhile, but I wanted to give yall another update on my gigantic boy, Buddy, who I got from Nick and Austin a few years ago. They told me at the time that his daddy is the biggest ater they have ever seen. I can't remember how big yall said the father is, N&A, but buddy is damn near 18 inches (17.8)! lol He is also a huge momma's boy, the biggest cuddle buddy you can imagine.

The first pic is just him having a staring contest with another chuck in a tank there, and the second was him doing as he does, trying to run right back up me after a solo adventure. I was trying to keep my stupid sock clad feet (the socks, and okay, my feet)out of the shot! So it is Buddy chasing me like a damn puppy.

Sorry they are so dark. It is evening here.

It was the puffy goofy cosy sox, and maybe that is what he was REALLY after! lol Then again, he thinks of me as his personal big warm mountain. What can I say. The boy doesn't know hes a lizard, until he sees a female.

From 2010 I think.

Aahhh. The eyes of trust and love and comfort.

He is a big guy! I think his dad topped out around 17 inches. He will probably get bulkier as he gets older, too. When will he stop growing? He is very nice, and looks quite spoiled. We always appreciate updates.

He and his sister were 2008 hatchlings. I had to look back at my old posts to be sure, but it was the year of Ike, the hurricane that hit here. Wonder if that had anything to do with his size lol Here is a pic I posted back then, the day they got here.

Wow. He's only four??? In my long experience, they grow for many many years. I'd say he'll continue to grow for at least 4 more years and then slow down, but not completely stop. Quick! Call the Guiness Book of World Records!! Bred by Dokais, reared by Rosebuds, cheered on by Chuckwalla Forum fans everywhere. Hey Tom, where are you? Don't you want to "weigh in" on this??? LOL
