What is the thermal threshhold of a Desert Iguana?
The reason for this question, is that somebody is selling Dipso Dorsalis and Recommending the wrong temp gradient. 38% to Maximum at 90%. You will not see Desert Iguanas in the mojave desert out and about until the ambient temp is 90%. So what should the temp gradient be to thrive in
captivity?. Can anybody answer these two questions.

I have been keeping desert iguanas for a few years and they appear to be thriving here. I keep them with chucks and in setups similar to chucks. My basking temp gradient is higher than Melissa Kaplan suggests. Ambient mid 90s to mid 80s, basking ranges from 90 to 120F. That is the best variation that I can get in the enclosure sizes that I have and they bask at various temps, including the hottest.
