baby savannah monitor

jheep May 11, 2012 03:24 PM

When can I start handling my baby Savannah? He's only 4-5 inches long. He's very scared. I have a lot of hides for him. Should I cut it down to only 1 on the hot side and 1 on the cool side? How do I start handling him without freaking him out too much. He hisses a lot, but hasn't bitten.

Hello,

Try using food to bridge the "gap" between you and your scared lizard... I have attached a video of someone who has taken the time to do this and record his efforts for others to learn from= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2yrmkVn2ac&feature=relmfu

Have a look, learn and enjoy- Thanks MDFmonitor and Best to You- Mike S
