Started my own rack. It is coming along nicely, but I do have a question. I notice that most home built rack systems are never painted. (I am a bit anal on looks) Is this due to keeping down the cost or are people woried about the rodents chewing on paint?

The ingestion is part of it for me, but also, I don't care about looks. They are in a place that people don't see, so I just care about functionality.
