Given that good journalism seems to be dead these days, it was a bit surprising that these guys did some fact checking and found out what we all know is obvious. But then they ran the story anyway!

I think I'm going to get some toy soldiers, let my 6.5' Indigo snake crawl around them, take some pics, and then call the news stations to tell them the army is fighting a 25' killer python that has invaded the United States.

Yeah, makes me ashame to be from South Carolina, *sigh*. There's a thread on this in the Rat Snake forum, as well. I've commented time and time again on WIS and on WLTX, two local stations out of Columbia, but people are insisting that it's a 20-foot "Indonesian Black Python" or other asinine garbage. They watch "Anaconda" one time and they're snake experts now. It's not even a large TREE the snake is on; all it would take to solve the issue of the snake's size would be a tape measure to measure the trunk of the tree where the snake appears in the photos, then use some simple math to deduce the diameter of the snake in relation to the diameter of the tree.
Seriously, have any of these inbred morons ever seen a REAL 20-foot snake?

....I KNOW!!..

I'm actually surprised Mr. Philson there even has the smarts to operate his own front door knob to go back inside the house after the so-called "news" interview..LOL!

Yeah, I had some great comments when I saw this over on the "ratsnake" forum.

The absolute stupidity of the general public, especially when it comes to ANYTHING involving snakes is just UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

That idiot Philson needs some serious coke bottle glasses, and he DEFINITELY should have his drivers license revoked and shouldn't be allowed to drive with his visual perception of size being that incredibly poor either.

Yes, any story involving a harmless snake and everyone's brain suddenly becomes the size of a peanut.

There certainly is a public nuisance on his property, but it's not a black ratsnake..it's him. Sheesh!
