Costa Rican Snake: Image

jet_kaiser May 25, 2012 01:37 PM

I pulled this snake out of a small water stream. It was swimming along the bottom of the water about 10" deep. The head can be seen in the bottom-right of the image.

Located in central Costa Rica at a high elevation.

The snake was small, only about 18" long.
Smooth scales
Highly iridescent
Basic brown color
Small, rounded head
