FINALLY. . .

This guy started eating "unscented". He's 10 months old and has adamantly refused to eat unless it was rubbed with an anole. It didnt even have to hardly rub against it, and I even did it without completely thawing the anole. Just barely had to touch it. Of course, I repeatedly tried the unscented overnight, but no response until BAM! About 2 weeks ago began eating with a vengeance.

(He was the only one out of last years babies that required scenting.)

I had one like that a couple of years ago. The only one that required scenting, but eventually came around.

Very nice!.....yeah, funny how once they get going they will eventually associate the "other" scent (rodent) with food and start eating well. I DEFINITELY know how that goes here too...ARRRGH!!. I have had many corns, OBX, and floridana in the past that try my patience with that, but quite often they won't eat ANYTHING for quite a while until one lucky day a scented item WILL eventually trigger their feeding response. Yeah, it can be a REAL pain in the arse sometimes!, but when they feed with vigor on unscented from that point on it is a great feeling to know they are off to the races without the scenting hassle...

congrats. I have a baby hognose that will not eat anything, but as soon as I get a pink head in her mouth she eats it very fast. I'm still waiting for mine to make that change.

Disclaimer: I do keep several snakes in pairs, and some in groups. However I realize that things can go wrong, and I have to keep a close eye on those groups, to be sure they are not being adversely affected by these living conditions. Also if one happens to eat it's cagemate, it is 100% my fault, and I know the risks in advance!
