But as far as I can tell there have been close to 20 alterna found this year and I've seen pictures of 3 of them. On the snake days page there are 2. On the main page I see a ton of pictures of people holding long nose, subocs, and other super exciting snakes, but I come to this site to see alternas and maybe a milk or two. I guess I just miss the way it used to be.

I am with you Colin. I miss the way this forum used to be. Come on people, brag a little! Make us envious.

Here's one that was found in Deer Canyon.....I guess I have permission to post it because I was allowed to photograph it.
I won't say who found it as I don't have his permission for that.

The law (the road ban) wasn't repealed, per se. It was modified. It amounts to taking one step forward after taking two steps back five years ago. But at least there's momentum in the right direction.

Now teach me why nobody posts here.

In recent years there has been a swing to Facebook and twitter that people can allow only certain people access too. There had been a huge gorge put in the road between herpers and the government, people feared a fully open public format. Due to snakedays, government support as well as scientific community support I think a bridge has been built to repair the damage that once existed. As people return to the trans pecos region and support for data is pushed as an agenda I believe folks will start to report rather than troll the forums, give it some time and the trust will return and the post will come. You cannot imagine the success that has occurred in a single weekend event. More and more people are opening up on the net, as people get back out and return from trips the pics will be uploaded and you can get your eye candy just like a junky we all are.

Just hang in there big boy you will get your fix lol
