I had 3 good eggs from my first ever coxi breeding. They have all hatched out and the first has a very small kink that took me 2 days to notice, the second has 2 larger kinks that affect its movement, the third has a small kink that is more obvious than the first. They are otherwise healthy and very clean looking coxi.

I was disapointed needless to say. I don't know if it was bad luck or something else. I incubated at 78 degrees in a hovabator, they incubated for 65 days.

I was planning on selling these babies but don't know what to do now. For you more experienced breeders how do you handle this?
Don't sell, discount, etc..

And if I keep them do recommend not to breed them? I assume this is not genetic but could cause problems with breeding.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Well, it was likely caused by some sort of temperature fluctuation at some point rather than a genetic deformities. This can happen fairly often. I would probably offer a big discount. If they are reduced enough, there will likely be people willing to tyake the chance on cheaper snakes to get some of those fine critters. As long as the kinks don't impede their feeding, pooping, and everyday life, and as long as their tails aren't so deformed that they can't breed, I would think a big discount might work.

On the other hand, if they are too deformed and their isn't much hope for any sort of decent life, I would humanely euthanize.

Thanks Doug.

I will let them shed, get them feeding and then decide what to do. I may post some pics later to see what you think.
