Herpstat Nd

I have two herpstats in snake room set at 87. Room gets 85 or so. Hooked up to racks. One of the herpstats is suddenly going up to 105. I removed snakes and turned off. Turned back on and went up to 105 again. Daytime temp lowered to 83 but still went to 105. Coil HOT to touch. Contacted Spyderrobotics and they gave me wiseass response. Ideas?
