My friend lives in the pine barrens in NJ. Her dad keeps injured box turtles, and found this in their driveway. I thought it looked more like a sulcata than anything (even though I know it isn't one I'm just bad with tortoises), I'm pretty sure it's non native though. Does anyone know what kind it is/how to care for it if it needs to be cared for?

Is it really flattened, compared to a boxie? How big is it? some side pics would help narrow it down....

That's a pancake tortoise.
_Malacochersus torneri_.
African.
Absolutely an escaped pet.
I'm going out to my driveway to see if I can find one!

That's exactly what I was thinking, I wish I could stumble upon a $300 tortoise
