Dark Phase Blairs

Misfits Aug 28, 2012 02:56 PM

Hi,

this year I bred a Dark Phase Langtry male to my "Black on Black" Generic female. At the 13. of july the female produced 11 good eggs and 1 slug. Today (28. of august) the first animals start to hatch, till now all are Blairs Phase like the parents and show a different coloration than "normal" Blairs Phase. I put a "normal" Blairs Phase hatchling from another clutch to them that you can see the difference.

I hope you like it, I´m very exited can´t wait to see the next hatchlings... and how dark the will become.

Cool. I have some Langtry's like that. They have produced babies that end up looking like 1)black saddles on a gray backround, 2)retain most of their orange and look essentially normal and 3) have the orange bands and the gray backround both turn black.

Sometimes they have white borders too, which is especially neat cause they can end up almost like a reverse alterna, ie black snake with narrow white rings, although I haven't produced a perfect one yet some are close.

Hi Aaron,

yes it´s quiet exicting to watch how they change the coloration and how they will end up. Here´s a pic after the first shed:

Yes it's neat to see the changes. I can see alot of dark pigment in the orange blotches near the tail, I think that one will get alot darker.
