Do you have problem with the smell? I find after a while it starts to smell disgusting (like [bleep]) and I have to throw the dirt out and replace it. And I don't even have a monitor. Even those bugs that eats [bleep] doesn't evem do the job. The waste is too concentrated in on area and those things [bleep]s too.

Anyway, you have a healthy frisky looking bunch. good luck with them! (;

Have you ever heard the expression don't sh** where you eat? It's disgusting, isn't it? (;

Again your comments are based on you not having any experince or knowledge of monitors, or reptiles in general.

I am sure at some point the soil will require being changed out. But that will be a while, most likely years.

The bugs, I am NOT a fan of that approach. Short term, its cool. Longterm its not. Some bugs will indeed over populate and cause stress to the monitors. Again In time. Particularly some of the bugs that come in with crickets.

About reptiles and in this case monitors. They without question use various methods to MARK they pocessions. Scent making is one and deficating is another.

To them is a comfort factor. It tells them its THEIRS. Its home.

In nature, most other individuals RESPECT marked territory. Not all, just most.

But then, in this case, its all about you, when in fact, you should be thinking of the monitors. Have a great day

It never stinks in there Pardon.

I too would think that the rancid aroma of monitor feces would make it impossible to breathe, but I have never once noticed any foul aroma inside that cage.

and it is sealed up good too.

Removed the limbs today, they were all wilted, and it was time.

Give them a few days, and I'll toss something else in there for them to "play" with.

The leaves all wilted(as expected)

I just love the way Littlefoot was tilting his head in this pose.

Chilling out on the ledge.. Every morning when I turn on the lights for the first time, the glass is wet.
