Help naming a "morph"........

rainbowsrus Sep 21, 2012 11:46 AM

Was discussing my "Aby" stripes with a friend yesterday and there was confusion on whether it came specifically from my female named Abby or what. So I'm thinking this line needs a name better than just "Aby".

Some individual babies produced in this line:

HE-OZ-1214

Lex HA-OZ-1009

Brandi HA-OZ-1001

Nora HA-OZ-1104

So, what ideas do you guys and gals have?

Dave,

I’m glad someone else is on board with this. We (as a community) can’t just call everything Aberrant for lack of a better term. If only to avoid confusing me…

My initial thought was “lateral stripe” but there are 3 different striped bloodlines that I know of (and probable 1 or 2 that I don’t know of) so I might think of something less descriptive but more just a name. Maybe just a random name like “clown” or “crazy Dave gene.”

What do you think?

Unfortunately "Clown" was already used on a now pretty much defunct line "Walsh Clown Phase" Jeff may still have one but they never did well.

And yes, there are several variations on lateral striping.

I think it's a good idea to name the line as well... especially since it seems to be genetic.

Personally, I like the idea of naming it after an ancient civilization.... as with some of the boas that have names for aberrant patterning. Ex. Mayan and Aztec

I like "Inca"

Interesting idea and could work. Just have to stay away from the bunch-a-letters-all-strung-together-aztec names
