Neuro Disorder I Jaguar Carpets?

Sarge2004 Sep 22, 2012 07:18 PM

Usually I prefer the natural occurring/locale type of constrictors with little interest in the morphs. But lately the various jaguar carpet morphs have really caught my eye and thinking of getting one. I have heard and read that all jaguar carpets suffer from some degree of neurological disorder. Is this true? If so, what exactly is it? Are they a hardy snake to keep? Thank you for your valued information. Bill

The neuro symptoms range from poor coordination to tremors and corkscrewing mostly when stressed or feeding. Some jags can seem not to have any symptoms at all to very severe. Although this doesn’t seem to affect the overall heath but can be a pain with feeding, and some jags seem not to have any symptoms but develop them over time or not at all. It’s a toss of the dice really but something we all have learned to work with.
