Breeding Gone Bad

cycluracornuta Oct 01, 2012 03:21 AM

Small male cyclura cornuta lost his neck grip while mating a larger female(middle photo). When the female walked away there was a splat of blood on the ground(bottom photo). About five minutes later she pooped out a large red mass. She had walked off with one of the males hemepenes still inside of her! (first photo).

That is so horrible! Is the boy alright? What happens to him now?

This occurred over 10 years ago, and just posted it now to add some life to this forum. The male recovered without incident. Had the event not been witnessed, don’t think anyone would have noticed a difference. For about 5 years after the incident this male became notably obsessed with wanting to fight with other males which may, or may not be a by product of the injury effecting hormone levels.

Glad he was okay!
